In addition to centering its research activities on businesses and the business community, the department also focuses on subjects of a non-economic nature which are of major importance to the bottom line of the enterprises.  

Language, communication and culture

Research into language, culture and society, and communication of businesses and the way they handle knowledge is central to the Department.

Research groups and centres

The research activities of the Department are organised into five research groups, of which two have presently been awarded research centre status: 

The Department is also home to Knowledge Communication Lab.
