Purpose and Content

This course addresses the contemporary theory of innovation and entrepreneurship for business studies research. The course will equally address each main area meaning that about 2 and a half days are reserved for each main area. Among the key issues which will be addressed are:

  • different research traditions in the fields
  • theories of innovation in a business and systemic perspective
  • theories of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship (Corporate Entrepreneurship)
  • methodology and approaches related to innovation and entrepreneurship research

Target group The course aims at PhD students of entrepreneurship and innovation or combinations thereof. In addition, the course is beneficial to students within other fields of management and business administration who want or need to include innovation, entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial thinking and theory into their dissertation, e.g. students of organizational change, knowledge management, product development, etc.

Fee To be announced. Students are required to book their own accommodation.
Credits/
Evaluation

5 ECTS.
To sucessfully complete the course, the participants will have to (a) read the assigned course material for each session; (b) prepare, present and discuss a short description and powerpoint presentation of their PhD-project; (c) participate constructively in the discussion of the PhD-projects by other participants; (d) actively take part in the thematic and theoretical discussions throughout the course. Certificates of completion will be issued only to those attending the entire course and found to meet the above criteria.
