Sustainable and innovative interdisciplinary research

One of the objectives defined in the BSS Strategy for 2009-2012 is for BSS to create world-class research within the theme 'sustainable growth through innovation'.

'Sustainable growth' means research related to environmental sustainability, economic sustainability or social sustainability (including corporate social responsibility – CSR).

Many of the researchers at BSS are already working within these fields – and several of them have been doing so for many years before sustainability became the buzzword it is today.

Virtual Communities is to strengthen sustainable and innovative research

BSS Virtual Communities is a new organisational framework for research projects at BSS. As the name indicates, they are based on the idea of creating network cooperation across traditional professional competences, organisational units, sectors and borders.
