MAPP - Centre for research on customer relations in the food sector carries out research on the development, marketing and distribution of foods.
MAPP was established in 1991. Since the beginning MAPP has worked to make Danish food companies more market oriented and has developed instruments that aid structuring the product development processes and furthermore studied why some companies are better food developers than others.

In 1997, international researchers evaluated and praised the centre as unique in Europe and with considerable potential benefits for the future direction of both food research and food manufacturing in Denmark.
As part of LMC, MAPP was evaluated in 2005 by an international advisory board (IAB). Here it was concluded that Danish food research is among the best in the world and about MAPP it was said "They are certainly the premier European institution at this time..." MAPP was also praised highly for both its research and dissemination.
In 2008 MAPP was again evaluated as part of LMC. The international evaluation panel views MAPP very positively and describes MAPP to have its own, fairly unique established position in Europe and perhaps globally.
Large international food companies have also shown great interest in MAPP's research tools and results which they have used as inspiration in their daily work.
MAPP has participated in a large number of collaboration projects with Danish food companies and trade organisations as well as a small number abroad. Moreover, MAPP has participated in a number of EU projects on consumer oriented issues.
MAPP publishes extensively - in journals, books and practically oriented publications. Read more about publications here
