Biographical summary
Anders Drejer received his Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Aalborg University in 1993 and his PhD in strategic management of technology in 1996. He has previously served as Associate Professor of Industrial Management Systems at the Department of Production, Aalborg University, and as guest researcher at London Business School.
Anders Drejer has published papers in several international journals including Technovation, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, The Learning Organization and International Journal of Technology Management and co-authored several books. Recently, Anders Drejer has authored books on Strategic Management, Competence-based Strategy and Innovation Management.
Currently, Anders Drejer serves as Full Professor of Strategic Management at the Aarhus School of Business and is participating in a number of national research programmes on Strategic Management, Innovation and Competence Development. Furthermore, Professor Drejer serves as a non-executive board member of several companies as well as a consultant to a number of major companies.
Research area
Based on the current and future challenges of organizations in Denmark and Europe, the current research of Anders Drejer is focused on the notion of business development. This involves research on how to enable future companies and managers to rediscover strategic management as a continuous activity of creative thinking on innovation and business development. Furthermore, the research should enable managers to handle the complexity and conflict of clashes between a well-established operations culture and the culture of the new businesses being created
Teaching
Anders Drejer teaches all aspects of strategy and strategic management as well as courses on innovation management and business development primarily for postgraduate and MBA students.
Also, Anders Drejer is a popular lecturer or first speaker at meetings in trade organizations, companies, and at various courses/meetings, where strategy and innovation are key topics.
